(There are also plenty of glamping beds and in-house bedrooms available as an optional add-on. Click the Lodging dropdown to learn more.)
-
We'll spend most of our time outdoors. In circles around the fire, taking hikes and outings, in the lush meadows of our village, swimming and tubing in our beloved Swannanoa River...
-
We've designed our retreat to be a healthy mix of structured open space offerings and unstructured socializing and nature time.
This is a co-created gathering with an emphasis on relational skillbuilding!
Consider: What might you like to experience? And what could you source and contribute to make that a reality? If you have a teaching, practice, or activity that you'd like to share with the tribe, this could be a great opportunity to bring it!
Our mornings together begin with Marketplace (group coordination of our offerings) at 9am each morning. Then we have two 90-minute open space sessions before 1pm lunch.
The rest of the day is available to be programmed as we all see fit and have interest or excitement.
-
Our primary purpose for this retreat is enhancing our individual and collective paths together through an immersive community experience. To practice being a 'we'. To support the intrepid seekers that we all are in continuing to embody the truth of cosmic unity.
And a powerful means of doing that is to deepen into our connections along that path.
We, the team, will be curating some potent offerings for community skill-building. Y'all bring yours too!
Oh, to be a radiant force of Love in this time on the planet! We stand for positive evolution TOGETHER, yo!
-
Each evening is available to gather around the campfire for fellowship and song under the stars.
We'll have the opportunity to join our voices in collective celebration of sharing the path together, expressing sacred witness to the Creator through devotional songs, celebratory songs, medicine songs, whatever music moves through.
Bringing instruments to Riverlight Campout is highly encouraged! Drums, guitars, handpans, shakers, ... whatchagot?
-
Our beloved Swannanoa River is such a gorgeous and favorite activity in the summer!
The water is just the right temperature for tubing on a sunny day. We bring our own tubes, and caravan together to a drop-in location a little ways upstream.
Then we let the river herself carry us back to camp. About an hour of tubing. So heavenly!
...
There's also a shorter loop that can be done on foot right by camp. A few minute walk and a few minute tube ride. No cars required.BYO tube.
(This outing will be weather dependent as we need a sunny day after a good rain.)
-
Keeping with the skill-building theme, we'll be collaborating on one big community meal per day. These meals will be fresh and vegetarian focused.
We'll all be part of a House Pod which will be our home kitchen for the weekend. House Pods will be optionally themed around dietary preferences.
And we'll be preparing our evening meals together, as part of our House Pod! (Read more about our House Pods in that dropdown.)
This shared kitchen and meal prep piece of our retreat creates so much of the magic. Real-time experience of community living; practicing our collaborative tools; offering service to one another, as well as receiving.
Breakfast and Lunch: Each camper brings their own food for breakfast and lunch, optionally coordinated with your Pod. The Pod kitchens will be available for preparing your breakfasts and lunches. Each Pod is able to coordinate whether members prep their own breakfast and lunch, or whether these two meals are prepared together, as a Pod.
Supper: Ingredients will be provided for the community meals. Each Pod will be assigned a community supper to prepare for the full camp. Your Pod will do the prep and cooking of a simple and nourishing vegetarian meal on the night you're assigned.
---
Please be sure to let us know your dietary restrictions, if any, in your registration.
-
Each participant will be assigned one of either 4 or 5 of our houses in the village. This group of ~6-10 campers will be your House Pod. Each Pod will include a TOTOH team member.
You'll be added to a group thread with your Pod mates prior to the event. That way you can begin connecting and coordinating.
House Pods are our way of achieving several goals in one:
• Making small groups where deepening in relationship is easier.
• Giving everyone access to some shared comforts of home, including bathrooms and showers and kitchens.
• Helping us team up and dig in together with some shared meal prep. Real-time collaboration provides excellent catalyst for heart expansion as well as relationship deepening!
• (House Pods are not where you sleep unless you also reserve a bed. Beds in glamping tents or in-house bedrooms are available as an add-on. Click the Lodging dropdown for more info.)
-
This is an immersion retreat. All participants will be staying on site.
The base rate of our campout covers tent camping in the grove near the river. BYO tent.
That said, there are plenty of glamping beds and in-house bedrooms available as an optional add-on. Please feel free to make yourself comfortable!
The retreat begins Thursday and ends Sunday afternoon. Sunday night beds are also available. Please specify if you wish to reserve 3 or 4 nights.
There are queen, full, and twin beds available in both glamping and homes. 3 night minimum please.
